At a very young age we were taught to look both ways before crossing the street, we were also told to pay attention to the cross walk guide, and the stop sign on the side of the buses that prevented us from crossing the street. In our older years we are still prompted to keep an eye on the predators that prey on us like the bully after our lunch money. Our concerns now are with money and internet scams.

Some of the lions in the grass eyeing us as meat are Affinity frauds. The identifiable and very specific groups in the money markets such as factions of religion, ethnicity, and demographics are the prey of affinity frauds. In the Forex market it is a new kind of fraud that is being heavily watched. In the field of predators some brokers play, offering alleged investment opportunities to specific areas claiming affinity (similarity, likeness) towards them. This is to create a feeling of comfort so to better reel them in like fish to a hooked worm.

In a world of many peoples’ the enormity of true connection is easily portrayed; via emailing, instant messaging and so on the quick and easy route to get things accomplished and get people connected is as effortless as watching ice cream melt in the son on a hot summer day. Individuals who are making investments with Forex brokers, or other types, need to be fully aware of this, and must carefully research the companies, regulators, and capital of their new found brokers, traders or investors.

Being legitimate is actually a typical move for these swindlers. They will have a few real customers and using that as collateral to fetch others by forming the bond, working hand in hand, and getting testimonials. For the “others” unfortunately, will be lead to a fraud that can lead to serious damages. The lack of notifying the authority is all too common in this situation; instead they try to fix issues within the group which leaves them shorthanded and alone.

Avoiding Affinity Frauds

1) The most important and first thing that should be done is to call and ask your state or provincial security agencies about the sales person, firm or company before investing ANYTHING. This simple maneuver can save most people a lot of money. See if the investment is allowed to be sold after asking if investor or company is registered. These investors do not care in any way for you and have a way with words so if they are not completely back away. DO your research.

2) From the investor obtain written information on the procedures of the investment, risks of the investments, and procedures on getting your money out!

3) Ask for professional advice, from an attorney, accountant, financial planner; be it through a friend or you pay them, you are much better off.

4) Pay attention to dates of testimonials, names, and the testimonials, earlier folks the investor had that were legitimate could be incredibly enthusiastic, however later arrivals may not be so pleased. Also check for repetitive names, and odd names. Be AWARE!

Matt Taibi—Rolling Stone magazine:
“The bank owns a 10 percent stake in the Chicago Climate Exchange, where the carbon credits will be traded. Moreover, Goldman owns a minority stake in Blue Source LLC, a Utah-based firm that sells carbon credits of the type that will be in great demand if the bill passes. Nobel Prize winner Al Gore, who is intimately involved with the planning of cap-and-trade, started up a company called Generation Investment Management with three former bigwigs from Goldman Sachs Asset Management, David Blood, Mark Ferguson and Peter Harris. Their business? Investing in carbon offsets. There’s also a $500 million Green Growth Fund set up by a Goldmanite to invest in green-tech … the list goes on and on. Goldman is ahead of the headlines again, just waiting for someone to make it rain in the right spot.”

Crude Oil Futures (Part II)

Posted by: Ahmad Hassam | Comments (0)

You must have been surprised because many people think that trading crude oil futures is only for the hedge funds or really wealthy people. Well, you can trade crude oil futures if you want to. But don’t do it without getting a good training. You might have heard some of your friends talk about trading crude oil futures. Trading crude oil futures can be highly profitable if you know how to do it. Natural whatever you do in life requires good training. So don’t try to trade crude oil futures contracts without proper training.

You should be aware of the power of crude oil in the global economy. Crude oil trades around the world. Crude oil is one of the most heavily traded commodities in the world. Every day perhaps billions of dollars worth of crude oil gets traded. You must be thinking that crude oil contracts get traded between the oil producing countries like Saudi Arabia, Russia, Nigeria and so on with non oil countries. Now to your surprise, New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) is considered to be the hub of crude oil trading in the world.

Ever heard of Light Sweet Crude? Sulfur content in oil is considered to be very important. Lower the sulfur content in crude oil, the easier and less costly will be its refining. The higher the sulfur content in the crude oil, the more expensive its refining will be. Light Sweet Crude is the high grade, low sulfur content crude oil that is more easily refined than the thicker oils. Now crude oil coming out of some of the Venezuelan and Saudi Arabian Oil wells contains high sulfur content and requires special refineries that only process the high grade sulfur crude oil. On the other hand Iraqi oil is close to the ground and has very low sulfur content.

At NYMEX, you can trade crude oil futures contracts based on Dubai Crude Oil, Brent North Sea Crude Oil, differential between the light sweet crude oil and the four domestic grades of crude oil and a few more. Oil options are also traded on NYMEX. Now Dubai Crude Oil Futures contract is very popular. So, NYMEX offers you a host of futures as well as options contracts based on crude oil.

The E-mini crude oil contract trades on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) GLOBEX platform and is cleared at NYMEX. It is based on 500 barrels of crude oil. Now as a retail trader, you can trade the E-Mini crude oil contract. If you have been dabbling into futures trading than you must know that futures trading is risky and can easily wipe out the capital in your trading account in a matter of minutes. So what to do? One and easy option is to stay away from the crude oil futures trading. The more difficult option is to first learn futures trading do some paper trading and only then venture into this difficult proposition. Read the whole article, I will give you a very good solution at the end. The NYMEX contract for the light sweet crude is the most liquid of all the crude oil contracts. A standard crude oil contract is based on 1,000 barrels of crude oil that will be delivered to Cushing Oklahoma if not settled in cash before the expiry of the contract. Now trading at NYMEX can be through open outcry during the regular treading hours as well as electronic web based trading after hours. A barrel of oil contains 42 US gallons. Crude oil is traded in US dollars per barrel. In other words, the price of crude oil is quoted in US dollars per barrel.

Open outcry or electronic, it doesn’t make a difference to you. Most of the traders now day trade futures contracts from the comfort of their homes. Open outcry trading takes place between 10: 00 AM EST to 2:30 PM EST. After hour trading takes place on NYMEX ACCESSS system, an internet based trading platform starting at 3:15 PM EST Monday through Thursday and ending at 9:30 AM EST the following day. Sunday trading starts at 6:00 PM EST.

Now you must know this thing that real companies have huge trading desks with hundreds of traders all betting on the price of oil. Oil markets are about real people trying to figure out how much oil they would need in the next few months to years to run their businesses regardless of whether they are suppliers or users. Trading crude oil futures contracts require you to be in tune with the market sentiment. Trends in crude oil market don’t develop suddenly and they don’t reverse suddenly. This is something good for you as a crude oil futures trader. It’s always good to visit the website of the exchange to know more. You can visit the website of NYMEX and read a more about the crude oil trading that takes place at that exchange. Trading oil markets requires constant vigil on your part in monitoring the global supply and demand of crude oil. You will need to know which country supplies how much and what the productions quotas are for the time being. This is pretty scary stuff.

As a crude oil futures trader you will need to know how to handle the seasonal cycle in the oil market as well as the weekly cycle. Now every week usually on Wednesday the American Petroleum Institute (API) and the US Energy Information Agency (EIA) releases their weekly supply data reports. If you want to trade crude oil futures than you should know Mark Soberman! What you need to do is click on the link on the left that says FREE EVIL GENIUS TRADING KIT. This trading kit is from Mark Soberman. Don’t worry its 100% safe and legal. You only need to come out of your comfort zone. Download the free kit and find a unique method to trade the crude oil futures! When a trend in the crude oil market develops, it may last for a few months to a year. It all depends on the global supply and demand situation of the crude oil. If you can spot a trend in the crude oil market in its early stage and ride it till its reversal, you can make a good profit. Now, just keep this in mind that crude oil prices are highly susceptible to global geopolitical situation and react violently to any political global uncertainty.

Hi guys I know this is pretty long but please help me out if you can find it in your heart to aid a really down college student.
I will choose a best answer and dish out points whenever possible
Alright so basically, my ex-girlfriend and I broke up like 3 months ago because she said that she needed time to “grow up”. Basically, we decided to still be friends because we really still like each other and get along great. However, I am still very much in love with her.
The problem is that lately I’ve been feeling really down around my ex and kind of jealous and I don’t know why. She’s basically perfect at everything. She’s very attractive because a lot of guys flirt with her, wears size 00 pants, exercises constantly, her parents are wealthier than mine as she lives in a half a million dollar house and her dad retired at the age of 48, she always gets whatever she wants (material-wise) i.e. she has two pairs of Uggs, wears all Abercrombie clothing, gets the newest iPod every year, breaks her cell phone at least 3 times a year, has two pairs of Sperry type shoes, and gets Tiffany and Co. jewelry costing around $175 once a year (She gets all this stuff usually for Christmas or just because presents but she always gets whats on her list of wants), she makes friends easily, has time to join lots of clubs in college, works as a store model for Abercrombie and has a higher GPA than me while majoring in journalism, and sometimes I feel like she has all of God’s blessing even though she is extremely atheist.
However, I am the complete opposite as I always work for what I get. I’m in one of the top 10 business schools in the nation but struggle to maintain a 3.0 GPA and spend most of my time studying, I haven’t met very many people in college because I’m trying to save money by living at home with my parents (my ex lives in the dorms which her parents pay for even though her parents live 2 blocks away from campus), I spend all my free time at home, I don’t find myself as attractive because I’ve only worked for American Eagle and I am Asian, my parents want me to earn things so I have to work to pay for my clothes, cell phone, car repairs and other stuff I want unlike my ex.
I just feel crappy to the point that I’ve been unmotivated to study and I want to sleep all day. I’ve stopped going to the gym and I have been wallowing in my own self-pity, I’m always wishing that my parents were a lot richer because my ex gets to finish college at her own pace while I’m pressured to finish in 4 while her parents can also afford to let her take summer classes not only at where we go to school but to other colleges such as New York University and/or Chicago to make her workload easier while I don’t have that luxury. She also got a chance to study abroad twice.
The only thing I feel like I have an advantage over her is that I know how to invest and save my money better than her because she can’t save her own money at all. She doesn’t even know how the basic definition of a stock or how a credit and debit card work. I am very ambitious and always look for ways to make extra money through investing and saving but I always still feel down because I know that she’ll still get ahead of me in the future because her father is already investing money for her for her retirement in the thousands already.
Not only does she get all that stuff but her little sister and her brother get all the stuff they want to. Her sister basically gets everything my ex does like a new iPod at the same time my ex does and wears Abercrombie only also. However, if she doesn’t get her way at all, she always throws a fit (I’ve been there to witness it) until she gets her way. I don’t understand how she gets all this stuff either. Is it possible to get a life like this when her dad worked as an engineer for GM for 20 years and is now retired and her mom is a territorial manager for Johnson and Johnson?
Despite all this I feel like God’s let me down. Why does he bless people that don’t believe in him? Should I stay away from my ex even though I still love her? She is white and we’ve known each other for 4 years and dated each other for 2 and a half years. Can a relationship with 2 different people like this work out again? Why do I feel this way? I get really jealous because no girls flirt with me at college compared to guys hitting on her. What should I do? Am I even in her league at all?
