Honestly, Do You Care? Should You Care? Is It Your Place To Care?

By admin

“U.S. officials have accused Chavez of becoming increasingly authoritarian and of being a destabilizing force in Latin America. The Venezuelan leader has repeatedly accused Washington of scheming against his left-leaning government.”
Hey, it’s VENEZUELA, it’s not Kansas City, MO. It’s NOT Denver, CO, New York, Chicago, Houston, IT IS VENEZUELA.
Last time I checked, VENEZUELA was NOT a part of the USA.
It’s NONE OF OUR BUSINESS and if they screw the people who invested in THEIR country, well, that is THEIR BUSINESS.

I guess by your assessment nothing going on in the rest of the world is our business. Good we can start off by stopping all foreign aid.(Food and monetary)

I care what is going on in Venezuela because of the amount of oil.
I also care because the current administration is POOR at international relations.
I’m old enough to have been through a couple of GAS Crisis’s and am not looking forward to another. So goes the price of GAS and so goes the USA’s economy.
I care that the oil keeps flowing and we are not getting raped by the prices.

They have a lot of oil, which for the next 25 years or so, is one reason to care. Also, they’ve been aligning with not so legitimate governments like Iran.

4

I don’t care.

That’s a good argument…unless of course some of your family lives in Venezuela. Get your head out of your @$$, man!

You should become a politician!!

7

well IRAQ–bush loves IRAQ….and N-Korea-and Iran-Syria..
He loves so much—a big heart—you should love too..
I am sure he loves Chavez also…

8

Basically correct, however, Venezuela owns Citco and pours lots of oil into the USA. So we do have an investment in what happens there. This is a major portion of our foreign diplomacy. OIL!

Well, although it seems inevitable that the sun will not set on US aggression, it is a democracy and who are we to say they elected the wrong person?
I have said since before Bush invaded Iraq that democracy is dangerous business. Our founders often referred to it as popular government. I think that says it all.

Well, eventually Chavez will not be content with the country he has and will want more. That is why we should care.

well… I care… but by careing it doesn’t mean:
A. that I’m gong to believe exactly what the government says without other verification
and
B. that I think we should do anything about it…
either way… China is probably beating everyone in the world, most likely lapping everyone in the world, in human rights violations and restrictions of freedom, yet they are our bestest pals…
if someone wants to talk about someones authoritarian nature… start with the biggest problem… that’s china… don’t cherry pick your international morality…
Bush finds the countrys that says bad things about him and then talks about the bad things going on there… he conveniently doesn’t mention the 20 other nations that are 10 times as bad but don’t talk bad about him…
