A TOP-RANKING US judge has stunned a conference of Australian judges and barristers in Chicago by advocating secret trials for terrorists, more surveillance of Muslim populations across North America and an end to counter-terrorism efforts being “hog-tied” by the US constitution.
Judge Richard Posner, a supposedly liberal-leaning jurist regarded by many as a future US Supreme Court candidate, said traditional concepts of criminal justice were inadequate to deal with the terrorist threat and the US had “over-invested” in them.

i think it’s great because these terrorist pig @(#&*ers have no rights under any circumstance…they would slit all of our throats if given the opportunity. and libs are preventing via the ACLU and other commie groups the proper surveilance of muslim “mosques” where we know terror is openly promoted. if they don’t have anything to hide why would they care?

This is outrageous. I understand that sensitive or classified materials are more likely to be used in such trials, but we already have mechanisms for sealing such information and protecting witnesses without blanket secrecy.

I don’t like it.. government is supposed to be transparent. Granted if someone is found guilty let them rot in hell for all I care.. but we are founded on the principle that ALL men, not all Americans, are created equal and that they are innocent until proven guilty.. transparency helps insure that the process is just.
